James Blower

Founder

James was the youngest ever MD of a bank when he set up and ran offshore deposit taker, Clydesdale Bank International for National Australia Bank. After becoming Shawbrook Bank’s first ever savings director, he set up Savings Guru, a specialist consultancy building the savings businesses of start-up and challenger banks and fintech’s serving the savings market such as Kepe and Nude Finance. Savings Guru is now one of the most respected pricing comparison sites for savings and James regularly appears on BBC TV and Radio and in national personal financial publications talking about the savings market. James currently runs the savings division of one of the UK’s largest fintech’s, Zopa Bank, and is Chair of the Association of Savings Professionals.

He returned home to Norfolk in 2022 and outside of work is Chairman of Wroxham Football Club, one of Norfolk’s most successful non-league football clubs.

Nick Lawler

Nick has spent over 20 years in financial services, working with financial institutions such as RBS, NatWest and Mortgages Plc Merril Lynch. He has a wide variety of fintech experience both locally and globally having worked at Moneyfacts In Norwich before moving to Fiserv, DPR and most recently Mambu. He has worked across the entire fintech ecosystem with a specialist focus on core banking, based from Norwich.

As a senior business leader, his expertise ranges across banking, finance and data solutions. Nick has assembled and managed top tier commercial teams to deliver high quality customer experiences and growth opportunities. Since joining Mambu as the Market Director for EMEA, Nick has helped excel the business by identifying and leveraging strategic partners for cloud core banking solutions alongside supporting regionalised product development throughout EMEA
